In my name you hurt yourself
my name and a thousand others
all speaking
telling you what you are
that you are not what you should be
curtailing your freedom
existence dammed into shallow channels
so it can flow far

But did you not stop to think
that it is your fear which speaks with my voice?
that my approval is required only if you need to please me
and you can never need to please me;
only i can need you to please me
to con you out of love

symbiosis is a myth
in the world of emotions
there are only parasites.

Is there a more selfish person
then the one who tells another to be unselfish?

Will you not let yourself be
un-wondering of my opinion
to be true to existence working as you
even if it means
that you must see
that you have been living in slavery,
moving to my carrot and stick

Will you not be hurt
and take blow after blow
till my opinion ceases to matter
and let go of your fear of living in the wilderness
of not knowing what you are
learn to survive
needing no support
but food
needing no more opinions
neither mine not yours
